My Name is Jessica Thompson. I have a B.S. degree in Animal Science, research experience, and vet experience. In high school I competed in LHSRA. My main events were barrels, poles, and the queens contest. I competed in the last DeRidder Lion’s Club PRCA Rodeo Queens contest, where I won as queen and won the horsemanship category. My Rodeo Queen coach was Vicki Broadrick from Welsh, LA. I also did DRC events for 4 years. I lived in Lake Charles for 3 years, where I gave riding lessons at Vinson’s Arabians.

I want to bring joy and happiness to everyone! I believe that riding horse in itself is therapy for the mind and body. I offer riding lessons for beginners to experienced. I have experience in barrels, poles, and the queens contest at the state level. I will open my barn up to boarders in the future. Thank you for considering SRT Ranch for your horse adventure! I grew up in the city and always wanted a horse. I begged and begged for one until finally my 9th grade year, my parents answered my request. I dove head first into riding by doing riding club, high school rodeo, and the PRCA Lions Rodeo Queen contest. I loved every minute of it and knew that I wanted to work with horses everyday. Doing the PRCA Lions Rodeo Queen Contest made me realize that I had a heart for special needs children. For the contest I had to know the in’s and out’s of the PRCA and the Lion’s Club. I realized during the Queens Contest that I wanted to hold horse camps and give riding lessons to EVERYONE!!! My husband and I purchased some land just out of town and I’m very excited that my dreams are finally coming true. I offer horsemanship and play day event riding lessons for beginner, intermediate, and experienced riders. My long term goal is to have Summer camps for ALL ages!
